Well let’s say that if 2020 was eventful, 2021 just told it step aside.
National news are quite something today, extremely eye opening.
That’s not where I want to go today. Somewhere more important.
One of my points for this year was to get a closer relationship with God.
Learned at church that worship is not just a Sunday thing.
It’s an everyday thing. Praying is just part of worshipping God, but not all.
Spending time with God by reading the Bible everyday, really reading.
Honestly putting our whole attention on God and giving Him our time.
Every single day. Not just on Sunday.
Life gets in the way, it’s easy to say, not today, I’m tired, I’m sick.
Does God deserve our leftovers? Let me show you something I found.
I started reading the Bible again at the beginning of the year.
I’m going to pass on Adam and Eve and go straight to Cain and Abel.
So Genesis says in chapter 4 this “3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord. 4 And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering,”
Did you get it? You see the difference?
Cain brought some of the fruits, Able also brought … fat portions from some of the firstborn …
We all know Cain got mad because God didn’t like his offering and then he killed Abel.
There are so many takes on this but at the end, is what we give to God and how.
Just going to church on Sunday and worship God for about an hour is just giving Him SOME of our time.
Giving God the fat portions from the first hours of our day, every single day is what God deserves from us.
Not some but the first fat juicy hours of every single day.
God won’t bless me if I keep giving Him some of my time.
God sent His one and only Son for me, and His Son died on the cross for me.
What makes me think that God will be ok with just some hours of my time?
So anyways, I thought I’d share what I’ve been working on this week.
I got my heart rate monitor this week, so working out properly is next along with fasting.
The kid, the dogs and I are back on a routine, so that should make things easier.
I’ll come back in a couple days with another reflection.
Be safe out there!
